Student Teachers
Two student teachers are learning the ropes of teaching at Plainville High School. Andy Moland is student teaching under Joe Dreiling. Moland graduated from Hays High School. He is attending Fort Hays State University and majoring in Industrial Technology Education with a Bachelor's Degree. Moland said Plainville is much smaller than his high school. His graduating class had more students than the entire PHS student body. Moland enjoys student teaching here. He said Dreiling is a lot of fun to work with, and he learns something new everyday. Moland said PHS has been an interesting place. "There is a great sense of community around here," he said. Moland plans to finish college and start teaching. He plans to start graduate school shortly after finding a job to obtain a masters degree. He then plans to settle down and start a family. Lance Sharp is the student teacher for Steve Buresh. Sharp graduated from Riley County High School. He is attending Fort Hays State with a degree in secondary education in mathematics. Sharp said Plainville has about 70 student less then his high school. Sharp said student teaching has been good and will help prepare him for when he teaches. He also said PHS is a good school and smaller sized, which is what he wanted. He added that most of the students are good. His plans after this are to get hired by a school within driving distance of Hays. He would like to be able to teach football and track.
