FCCLA Fundraiser

The FCCLA members were recently involved in the Lemonade Stand fundraiser. Each year they vote over what fundraiser they want to do, and for two years now they have took part in the Lemonade Stand. Sponsor Shari Tucker said, "This year the sales have gone down. A number of members chose not to participate in selling. Less sales were made so there is less payment of activities by the chapter."

Top sellers could earn various prizes provided by the company. They select the prize according to the number of items sold. Top sellers where sophomore April Hockett, junior Amy Ledbetter, sophomore Paige Lowry, and freshman Ahsley Jones. Hockett earned $900, Ledbetter earned $550, Lowry earned $400, and Jones earned $400.

Break's Over; that's the breaks!
By: Chantal Plante

Well, it's time to come back to school after that wonderful long break that seemed like it would never end. Yep, kiss al of those home-cooked meals good-bye, and say hello to the school food again. No more sleeping in and staying in your pajamas all day. That's right, it's time for all that homework and tests to become part of your life again. It's just not fair for them to give us these breaks only to make us come back to this prison we call school. It's almost like they're trying to teast us, they give us some slack, and they reel us back in, give us some slack, and reel us back in. What are we, TROUT? They let us get all comfortable at home, and when we least expect it, we have our parents waking us up early in the morning just to say, "You have to get ready for school." Then, when you get to school, all of the teachers are like, "Good morning! Did you have fun on your break?" And all you can do is grumble and nod your head as you walk away! What do they expect? Do they think we are happy to come back to school after such a long glorious break. After we get a good break like this, it only makes us more anxious for the greatest break of them all.... SUMMER BREAK! All of this anxiety is bound to make a kid explode! So here's your welcome back to school article! WELCOME BACK!
