Cards Chalk Up Another Win Against Eastern Heights

The Plainville boy's basketball team beat Eastern Heights on February 18, with a final score of 66-45. The game started out with a slow pace and low scoring with the first quarter ending 8-6 in favor of Eastern Heights Mustangs. The second quarter, however, was a very fast paced game with Eastern Heights scoring 18, while Plainville scored 28 to make a 34-26 half time lead into the locker room. The third quarter the Cardinals came out and scored 12 more points, while the Mustangs only scored 10 to fall behind by 10 at the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter was probably the best quarter of the game for the Cardinals. While Plainville scored 20 points in the fourth, they held Eastern Heights to 9 points to make it a final score od 66-45. The win improved the Cardinals to 9-9 on the year. Justin Casey and MJ Klein lead the Cardinals in scoring, each with 17. Plainville only allowed three players for Eastern Heights to score on a pretty good defensive night. In previous games this year, Plainville went to Stockton and won 75-70, then traveled to Kensington and won 62-54, and finally finished up their road trip at Norton with a tough game against a very good Norton team 54-44. The Cardinals took on the Victoria Knights on Friday February 21 for their last home game, with a final score of 71-68. It was also Senior Night during which seniors Ryan Williams, Wayne Cook, and Adam Siefers were honored.
