The Best Haunted House Ever spooks PHS stage

The All-School Play The Best Haunted House Ever will take place on November 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the High School Auditorium. The play was written by Pat Cook.
The cost is $3 for high school students and adults, $1 for grade school students and children who are not in school get in free. All money received will be used to enhance the drama department at Plainville High School. Director Julie Becker and Deb Turnbull have the task of bringing a highly entertaining and suspenseful story to life. Thirty-three students tried out parts in the play, with twenty students receiving roles. The crew includes two prompters, fours students working backstage, and two sound technicians.
When you attend the performance, you will meet the students of Hoover High. The decide the creepy manor of "Old Cut 'n' Stitch" is the perfect location for a fundraiser. (Biology professor Jarvis Stitch was rumored to have conducted many late night experiments before mysteriously disappearing.) However, Jenkins High students have the same idea. At first, it appears that one group of students is trying to scare the other group until it becomes clear that a mysterious third party is on the same scene. Why are the police at the old manor?
The students involved in the play and the characters they play include the following: Spencer Blecha (Nick), Vanessa Owings (Dorothy), Heather Schonthaler ( Addie), Kelsey Bjornstad (Gloria), Rachel Thompson ( Jo), Amber Cooper (Lulu), Amanda Husmann (Peg), Kristen Dinkel (Ruthie), Jacob Keas (Murphy), Emily Jones (Frankie), Connor McMullen (Clyde), Luke Brin (Sherman), Megan Plante (Mandy), Samantha Hixon (Phyllis), Megan Becker (Pru), Scott Peavey (Watchett), Jesse Husmann (Knightfal), Garrett Frederking (Professor Stitch), Aubrey Frederking (Zombie), and Casey Buganski (Riley). Justin Lacy and Colt McCune are prompters, Backstage workers are Kennis Becker, Jessica Thompson, Josh Brackeen, and Derek Jones. Justin McCune and Mindy Gerhardt are sound technicians.
"We've been able to involve more students backstage this year because of the technical aspect of this play. Amidst all of the screaming, everyone seems to be enjoying his or her character," Turnbull said.
"The play is a great opportunity to improve yours social skills and to relax and be yourself. It is a lot of fun and I'm sure it will be a great performance," junior Spencer Blecha said.
